About

Mission and Purpose

We work to close the gap between the institutions that train health professionals and the communities that most need them.

Our Mission

Martija Institute for Health Professions Education LLC supports health professions education programs in improving how they teach, assess, and develop their faculty, while working to expand access to health professions pathways in medically underserved communities.

These two goals are not separate. The institutional relationships we build through consulting create the foundation for community outreach. As we help programs see clearly where they can strengthen, we also help connect them to students in communities that have historically lacked access to health professions exposure.

How our work connects

One company, two connected commitments, each strengthening the other.

Consulting for programs

Every program conversation follows one model: one door, three rooms. It begins with a Discovery Review, and support in curriculum and assessment, community outreach and pipeline programming, or faculty development comes forward only after the review defines a need. Faculty keep final authority over academic content at every step.

Community-facing work

Alongside its consulting work, the company carries out community-facing work in health professions education, held to the same standards: realistic representation of health careers, no deficit framing, support for informed decision-making, and long-term relationships over one-time events. Our consulting work sustains this commitment.
